Time to sleep

Day 149: One thing I learned today…
According to the CDC, 25% of US adults reported insufficient sleep.
I believe sleep varies person to person however, a study showed that moderate sleep deprivation produces impairments equivalent to those of alcohol intoxication.

After 17 to 19 hours without sleep, performance was equivalent or worse than that of a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.05 percent. I wasn’t sure what a 0.05 BAC averaged so I looked into it. According to James Fell and Robert Voas reported “It takes at least four drinks for an average 170-pound male to exceed 0.05BAC in 2 hours on an empty stomach (three drinks for a 137-pound female).”
17 hours of wakefulness leaves 7 hours a night for sleep; and yet many people declare that they're "fine" on just 5 or 6 hours. While there is some individuality in sleep needs from person to person, most sleep researchers encourage adults to aim for 8 consistent hours; it just seems to be the sweet spot.
How much are you sleeping?
