Day 8: one thing I learned today...


On the Doctor Farmacy podcast Dr. Hyman interviewed Dr. BJ Fogg a behavior scientist at Stanford University. During the interview, it was mentioned that repetition does not create a habit. Emotions create a habit. The feeling of success can help create a habit. Relieving a negative emotion or pain can help create a habit. The idea of “if you keep doing it, it will become a habit” is not quite accurate. If you are dreading something, you are probably not going to make it a habit.
