Day 124: One thing I learned today...

Research on gratitude journaling shows that this practice has the ability to decrease symptoms of depression and also improves your mood and overall well-being.
Study on Gratitude
Participants were assigned to 3 groups
Group 1-Journal 5 things which were daily hassles
Group 2-Journal 5 things which grateful for
Group 3-Journal 5 things with neutral emotion
The group which engaged in gratitude Jounraling reduced health complaints and increased exercise behavior. On average, these individuals spent 1.5 more hours per week than those that where in the group journaling about their hassles.
This does not mean we have to ignore the bad things in life but focusing on what we are grateful for can improve our well-being. Do you journal?
