15 minute walk reduces chocolate cravings

Day 135: One thing I learned today...

A 15 minute walk reduces chocolate cravings!

A study was conducted with two groups.

Group 1- Exercise session group:15 minutes of walking

Group 2- Passive session group:15 minutes of sitting without any materials

After the 15 minutes of activity or non activity the groups were each given a task which induced a stress trigger (a Stroop Test which is a color and word test which has been shown to elevate physiological arousal). And then the participants were asked to unwrap a piece of chocolate and handle it for 30 seconds. Using a self reporting scale, the study concluded a short bout of physical activity may reduce cravings of sugary snacks.

I find this interesting because my mind typically thinks, I just engaged in some sort of movement- I deserve a snack. What do you think?
